A dozen Masonic bodies, one address
1969–73
Whatever the city directories said about the corner in these years, the lodge columns of the Post said something else: by the early 1970s, more than a dozen Masonic bodies listed their meetings at the Heights Masonic Temple, 11th and Harvard. Lodges, Royal Arch chapters, councils, Knights Templar commanderies, and Eastern Star chapters filled the listings week after week.
Some listings may have been the newspaper trade’s notorious recycled boilerplate; many were plainly current. Either way, the building’s name refused to leave the Masonic map.
